Concours d'Elegance et d"Ordinair
The Peachtree Section has partnered with RBM of Atlanta North in Alpharetta on Saturday, October 9th, for the Concours d’Elegance. Cars entered in this year’s event will be broken down into three categories: Concours, Ordinaire, and Display. The Concours category cars will be judged according to MBCA rules by a select group of MBCA judges. Cars entered into this category should expect the highest degree of scrutiny. Cars will be placed in appropriate categories and judged against like cars. This category is for those who want an honest overall assessment of their vehicle. There will be an opportunity to have original unrestored cars entered in a Preservation Class. Please e-mail our Chief Judge, Jim Mitchell, at jrs190sl@yahoo.com for more details. The Ordinaire category cars will be judged by competing peer participants. All participants in this category will get an opportunity to view and vote/judge on the best cars based on a pre-determined list of criteria (but not the same as the Concours cars). Come out and enjoy the show and have a little fun by participating in this group. The Display category is as it states. Cars entered in this category will be placed on display for the enjoyment of spectators, judges and the like. RBM of Atlanta North will provide a catered lunch for all participants. Trophies and door prizes will be awarded, and there will be food. This event is open to all Mercedes-Benz car owners (members and non-members). Do you know someone who owns a Mercedes-Benz and isn’t a member? Invite them to come and participate. A small nominal fee per vehicle of $25 ($35 after Sept. 15) is required to participate to help cover the event’s cost. To participate, please fill out the registration form found on the Peach Page in this newsletter. Registration will be between 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., viewing and judging will be from Noon to 2:00 p.m., and awards will begin at 2:30 p.m. For more information please contact Daryl K.
